Opowieść o ikonie Safari
As far as at least half of the world is concerned, a safari is a frequent destination of tourists and students on a field trip. It is where wildlife can be safely observed by humans wearing odd hats and taking too much photos. But for beings who are more wired to the interwebz, safari is a web browser by tech giant Apple. The word safari is actually a Swahili word, which means journey. It all makes sense; surfing the World Wide Web is like a journey, from one clickbait listicle to another. It is also very much like the live safari as you get to encounter an interesting, exotic bunch of living things. The best thing about it is there’s no entrance fee, only wasted time.
Safari is represented by an image of a compass with the red needle set in between the North and East direction. Since Safari was launched in 2003, the logo underwent a few changes. For both the OS X and iOS, the Safari logo was made simpler than the original version.
