Opowieść o ikonie Książka
When I was just a little kid my grandma used to tell me all sorts of fantastic tales. She had fables about gigantic whales swallowing up whole islands and other stories of children playing on the moon, which was made of cheese. Grandma always had the greatest stories and it was a treat of the highest order to hear whichever yarn she spun.
There was one kind of story that was different from the others—a story about a free downloadable book icon. Sure, it looked like a book icon should—but unlike all those other icons, it was actually a doorway to the world of Iconia. Grandma’s stories about Iconia were filled with the greatest of adventures and the most terrifying suspense imaginable.
The more stories she told me the more I came to believe that such a realm existed. My curiosity as a child developed into fascination and then fixation. Yet no matter how hard I pressed her, grandma never let on the truth—even until her dying day. It was with the greatest of shocks that my grandma’s lawyer took me aside after her funeral and handed me a think envelope, with my name on the front, written in the unmistakable script of my grandmother.
In her letter she assured me that her passing was most necessary. She explained that we were of an order of guardians—older than time. Our single pursuit is the protection of Iconia. For eons the magical realm was safe from the lurking evil. Yet something has slipped its way past the guardians, and is trying to destroy the very existence of Iconia. As a direct descendent of the clan of guardians, it is my holy duty, like my grandmother’s before me, to protect the realm at all costs.
With the knowledge I now bear, I have a new purpose, and I must not rest until I find that fabled gateway to Iconia, and rid it of whatever evil may be corrupting it!
Usage of Book Icon
Studies say that for every listicle published on the internet, one book sets itself on fire. In case you’re new to the interweb and are unaware of this mumbo jumbo, a listicle, which is a blend of the words ‘list’ and ‘article’, is a short article written in a numbered format, e.g. “8 Listicles That Will Change Your Life.” Basically, it is the internet’s solution to short attention span—a problem made worse by the internet itself.
At this age of emojis and hashtags, a goldfish can concentrate longer than a human. Actual studies have figured out that the average human attention span has dropped to a record low of eight seconds; a goldfish, swimming alone within the confines of its fishbowl, has a mean attention span of nine seconds. Mark Twain must be shaking his head from six feet under.
For listicle enthusiasts, the good thing about the book icon is that it is not a book. No need to read or any of that useless stuff. A bunch of book icons are here, and none of them contains words.
Use these book icons for things related to literature, school, and anything that makes you look smart.
